Rapper Jim Jones has been arrested after allegedly becoming belligerent while being questioned by police about two oustanding warrants given for $193 worth of unpaid road citations.

The 37-year-old former recurring star of VH1 reality show "Love & Hip Hop" and member of rap group The Diplomats has not commented. Jones, whose real name is Joseph G. Jones, was arrested on the morning of February 13 in Fair Lawn, New Jersey, where he lives.

Police told NorthJersey.com that an officer had questioned Jones about a ticketed car parked on a snowy street since February 8. They said he agreed to move it and pay a fee. The officer then discovered he had two outstanding warrants and he stopped cooperating after he was asked about them, the report said.

One warrant had been issued in 2011 over an unpaid $43 ticket given for failure to remove snow from a sidewalk, while the other one, worth $150, was issued in 2010 and was given for failing to yield to an emergency vehicle, the website said. Police said the officer began to arrest Jones, who then became belligerent.

Ex-LAPD officer Christopher Dorner : Irvine police release recent photo

The truck owned and driven by suspected cop killer Christopher Dorner during his alleged rampage through the LosAngeles area was found deserted and in flames on the side of Bear Mountain, Calif., this afternoon - with tracks in the snow leading away from the vehicle.
The San Bernadino Sheriff's Department confirmed the truck was Dorner's, but said at a news conference this evening that the tracks around the truck did not lead to him.

Personnel from several departments and teams of dogs continued to search the area near Big Bear Lake, about 80 miles east of Los Angeles, including door-to-door searches of cabins located there, officials said.

iPhone 5 completely rebuilds the iPhone on a framework

iPhone 5

Apple iPhone 5
The iPhone 5 completely rebuilds the iPhone on a framework of new features and design, addressing its major previous shortcomings. It's absolutely the best iPhone to date, and it easily secures its place in the top tier of the smartphone universe.

iPhone 5
The iPhone 5 adds everything wanted in the iPhone 4S: 4G LTE, a longer, larger screen, free turn-by-turn navigation, and a faster A6 processor. Plus, its top-to-bottom redesign is sharp, slim, and feather-light.

The iPhone 5 is the iPhone we've wanted since 2010, adding long-overdue upgrades like a larger screen and faster 4G LTE in a razor-sharp new design. This is the iPhone, rebooted.

The new design is flat-out lovely, both to look at and to hold, and it's hard to find a single part that hasn't been tweaked from the iPhone 4S. The iPhone 5 is at once completely rebuilt and completely familiar.

Beyonce Lip-Sync the Star Spangled Banner at the Inauguratio

Captain Kendra N. Motz, Media Officer of the U.S. Marine Band, said the Presidential Inaugural Committee requested they accompany Beyonce in her performance, but "there was no opportunity for Ms. Knowles-Carter to rehearse with the Marine Band before the Inauguration so it was determined that a live performance by the band was ill-advised for such a high-profile event."

"Each piece of music scheduled for performance in the Inauguration is pre-recorded for use in case of freezing temperatures, equipment failure, or extenuating circumstances," Motz said in a statement. "Regarding Ms. Knowles-Carter's vocal performance, no one in the Marine Band is in a position to assess whether it was live or pre-recorded."

Today 21 January, Monday Dubbed Most Depressing Day of the Year 2013

Today 21 January, Monday Dubbed Most Depressing Day of the Year 2013

Cliff Arnall who is a Psychologist has calculated that 21 January, Monday, today is the most depressing day of this year.

Arnall was hired by Sky Travel in 2005 to identify what date is best for people to start planning their summer holidays, and realized he could pinpoint the worst date of the year for most people. His statistical examination points to the third Monday after the holidays.

“I was originally asked to come up with what I thought was the best day to book a summer holiday but when I started thinking about the motives for booking a holiday, reflecting on what thousands had told me during stress management or happiness workshops, there were these factors that pointed to the third Monday in January as being particularly depressing,” he says.

Obama Has Fifty One Percent Approval At Start Of Second Term

Obama Has Fifty One Percent Approval At Start Of Second Term

President Obama's approval rating stands at 51 percent as he prepares to be sworn in for a second term, according to a new CBS News/New York Times poll. Forty-one percent of Americans say they disapprove of the overall job he is doing as president.

Mr. Obama's approval rating is down six points compared to December, shortly after his reelection, and is lower than the 62 percent approval rating he received shortly after taking office in 2009. His approval rating is slightly higher than where it stood at this point last year, when 47 percent approved of his performance and 45 percent disapproved.

Mr. Obama's approval rating hit its first-term high of 68 percent in April 2009, roughly 100 days after he first took office. His lowest rating came in March 2012, as Americans grappled with increased gas prices. His job rating hovered around 50 percent throughout 2010 and 2011, though it spiked to 57 percent in May 2011, after the killing of Osama bin Laden.

Holly Madison in Doghouse

The former Playboy pin-up – and current mom-to-be – is moving out of her home in the Rancho Circle neighborhood of Las Vegas after repeated complaints from the homeowners association over her pink doghouse, which is human-sized and built to accommodate her three pups, Louis, Napoleon and Josephine.

"When I went over it with my contractor, he consulted the HOA on all their restrictions and whatnot," she told Las Vegas Weekly. "He told me it has to match the architecture of the house, so I did that with the roof because … it's possible you could see the roof from the street, but you can't see any of it from the street, actually."

In addition, the structure's creative color has also been a point of conflict for the association, which has repeatedly fined the star over it – not that Madison's taking their actions lying down.

"It's a hundred dollars a month," she said. "I haven't been paying it. I just keep sending them nasty letters."

Luckily for Madison, when the doghouse was constructed, it was designed to be movable.

"Yes, I'm going to bring it," she replied when asked if it will accompany her to her newest home.

Terminator Actor Edward Furlong Arrested For Shoving Girlfriend

Edward Furlong will appear before a judge in Beverly Hills Tuesday, after the 35-year-old actor was arrested this past weekend in connection with domestic violence following an incident with his girlfriend, marking his third arrest in less than four months.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies took Furlong into custody Sunday at 5:45 a.m. PT, citing a “boyfriend/girlfriend disturbance.”

The Terminator 2 actor was then booked into’s Men’s Central Jail in Los Angeles in lieu of $50,000 bail, officials said. Furlong had a $30,000 warrant outstanding after violating probation from an earlier incident.

Furlong has made plenty of legal blotter the past few years for drug- and violence-related offenses. Most recently, he was arrested October 30 in connection with domestic violence toward his girlfriend at Los Angeles International Airport; and again November 21 in connection with assault on the same woman.

Actor Edward Furlong was arrested Sunday morning for domestic battery and a warrant for felony domestic violence.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a domestic abuse call at the 1400 block of Laurel Avenue around 5:45 a.m.

The “Terminator 2” actor is being held on $50,000 bail — $20,00 for the domestic battery charge and $30,000 for the warrant.

The 35-year-old was arrested in 2011 for violating a court order to stay 100 yards away from his estranged wife.

Furlong is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.

New Girl Scout Cookie

Girl Scout cookie lovers accustomed to seeing items like peanut butter, chocolate, coconut and more chocolate on the ingredient list may do a double take when they see the newest cookie on the order form.

Alongside Tagalongs, Thin Mints and Samoas in this year’s Girl Scout cookie repertoire are Mango Crèmes, a crispy cookie featuring mango, coconut, vanilla and Nutrifusion™?  Yes, Girl Scout cookies have been vitamin-punched.

Little girls are made of sugar and spice and everything nice, but the same can’t be said for Girl Scouts’ cookies.

Meet the Mango Creme, a crispy vanilla wafer packed full of nutrients from dehydrated veggies and fruits. It’s now proudly sold by Girl Scouts alongside the traditional Thin Mints, chocolately Tagalongs and crispy-coconut Samoas.

The Franken-cookie is artificially flavored, but bakers used Nutrifusion to “supercharge” it with nutrients from rehydrated apples, oranges, cranberries, pomegranite, limes, strawberries and shiitake mushrooms, for Vitamin D.

“Our product isn’t a replacement for real fruits and veggies,” said William Grand, the Nutrifusion vice president. “But we can offer an alternative for people who still want their chips, pasta and cookies.

“Through our technology we can put some nutrients in the food they eat.”

Grand uses shiitakes in Mango Cremes for the Vitamin D, he said.

As a result, the cookies are chock-full of such vitamins like B1, A, C, D, E and B6 — in some cases up to 15 percent of the daily recommended serving.

There are zero trans fats and no preservatives — but it remains to be seen if Mango Cremes sales will crumble next to fan favorites that your stomach loves, but your cardiologist doesn’t.

The mango madness was the idea of ABC bakers, said Amanda Hamaker, manager of product sales for Girl Scouts.

“They presented the idea to us, and said they’d done considerable market research showing that fruit cremes are very popular,” she said.

The Girl Scouts liked the idea of making a cookie that packed a real nutritional punch.

“It’s good to give it a little boost,” said Hamaker.

But a cookie is still a cookie — even when part of it comes from a lab — and three Mango Cremes equals 180 calories. That’s 10 more than a serving of four Thin Mints.

Student Loans

An education loan is a form of financial aid that must be repaid, with interest. (Scholarships, on the other hand, do not have to be repaid.)

Education loans come in three major categories: student loans (e.g., Stafford and Perkins loans), parent loans (e.g., PLUS loans) and private student loans (also called alternative student loans). A fourth type of education loan, the consolidation loan, allows the borrower to lump all of their loans into one loan for simplified payment. A recent innovation is peer-to-peer education loans. More than $100 billion in federal education loans and $10 billion in private student loans are originated each year.

Since July 1, 2010, all new federal education loans have been made through the Direct Loan program. The loans are made through the college's financial aid office with funds provided by the US Department of Education. This includes the Federal Parent PLUS loan in addition to student loans. The terms of the Federal Stafford, PLUS and Consolidation loans are similar to the terms of the federal education loans previously available through the federally-guaranteed student loan programs. However, the interest rate on the Federal Direct PLUS loan is lower (7.9% vs. 8.5%) and the approval rate is higher.

Megan Fox quits Twitter, Facebook is as much as she can handle

Megan Fox

A week after joining the social networking site, Megan Fox has quit Twitter. Though her account is still active, Fox admits on her Facebook page that she's done tweeting.

Megan Fox amassed more than 250,000 Twitter followers since joining the social networking site Jan. 3 -- but despite her popularity, the actress is planning to deactivate her account.

Twitter isn't for everyone. And apparently, Megan Fox has put herself in that category.

After joining the social media site Jan. 3 and sending out a mere 13 tweets (and one retweet!), the first time mom has officially quit posting on her microblogging page.

Well, that was fast.

megan-fox-quits-twitter.jpeg"Some of you may, or may not have noticed by now that my Twitter account has been shut down..." she writes. "I thought that 2013 might be the year that I finally blossomed into a social networking butterfly... but as it turns out I still hate it. Love you guys but I will just never be that girl. Facebook is as much as I can handle. #I'm Sorry"

Clearly Fox didn't learn how to hashtag in her time with Twitter. Someone should probably tell her that her account isn't deactivated yet, or maybe she's just waiting for approval. Still, Fox teased her unhappiness with Twitter in her last tweet.

Jackie Chan’s Anti-Americanism Revealed

Jackie Chan severely criticizes the United States for being the most corrupt country in the world during a Chinese television interview.
Americans know Jackie Chan best for his cheery, acrobatic performances in action movies such as “Rumble in the Bronx” and “Rush Hour,” made successful by his amazing martial artistry and self-effacing comedy. Chinese know Chan, a Hong Kong native, for largely the same reasons. But they also know him for something most Americans might find surprising: He is passionately political, a staunch defender of the Chinese Communist Party and harsh critic of anyone he sees as opposing Beijing. Today, that includes the United States.

Chan, responding to widespread criticism of China’s recent censorship of a popular newspaper, insisted in a Chinese TV interview that the United States is “the most corrupt country in the world.” He scolded Chinese who criticize their country in a way that foreigners can hear or see, adding that he’s careful to only praise China when giving interviews in the U.S.

Here are his comments, translated into English by Ministry of Tofu, which also has the video. It’s worth watching to see how animated he becomes when criticizing the U.S. and defending China. I don’t speak Chinese, unfortunately, but if you’re like me then you can follow him a little by listening for the word “Meiguo,” which means America.
