The 'Rock of Ages' star - who is in long-term relationship with 'American Idol' presenter Ryan Seacrest - claims she was ''abused mentally, physically, everything'' after moving to London from her native Utah to study dance as a youngster.
Julianne Hough has revealed 'abused' as a child between the ages of 10 and 15 while living in London but has forgiven her attacker Julianne Hough has revealed she was abused as a child.
The 24-year-old actress told Cosmopolitan magazine: ''I was 10-years-old looking like I was 28, being a very sensual dancer. ''I was a tormented little kid who had to put on this sexy facade because that was my job and my life. But my heart was the same, and I was this innocent little girl. I wanted so much love. ''While I was in London, I was abused mentally, physically, everything.''
The actress did fight hard to get her part in the Lasse Hallstrom-directed film adaptation of Nicholas Sparks' bestseller, which opens in theaters Feb. 14. Safe Haven tells the story of Katie, who eventually falls in love with a widower, after escaping an abusive relationship with an ex-boyfriend.
Hough studied at Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts in London, which is the oldest theater arts training school in the world, having been founded in 1911. It was there that Hough discovered both the joys of professional dance and the horror of abuse. She explained, "I was 10 years old looking like I was 28, being a very sensual dancer." Hough continued, "I was a tormented little kid who had to put on this sexy façade because that was my job and my life. But my heart was the same, and I was this innocent little girl. I wanted so much love." It's shocking to learn that the former "Dancing With the Stars" instructor was sexualized at such a young age.
