Vernon Carver walks his dog past an overturned UPS truck as troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol investigate a three-vehicle crash that happened in Cocoa on Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013.

The wreck involved three vehicles and closed the highway at City Point Road about noon. All lanes had been reopened by 1:15 p.m.

“There was a UPS truck involved; it’s on its side,” FHP spokeswoman Sgt. Kim Montes said immediately after the crash.

She said the truck was trying to turn into a business when it was hit by a van, which was also heading south. The impact tipped the truck and sent the van across southbound lanes, where it crashed into a northbound vehicle.
